Hello Climate Advocates!
With the arrival of springtime, as a season for emergence and opportunity, we felt that it was a good time to get together to discuss both progress and actions surrounding our mutual priority of climate change.
Although the political “climate” has vastly changed, in an environment of competing priorities, we cannot let up on assuring our concerns rise to the top. Per the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), we have less than 8 years to cut our greenhouse gas emissions in half.
Our meeting agenda will include discussing achievements as well as current actions at the State, County, Regional, and City Level:
State: Successes at the Legislative Session!
County: Motion Approval and Implementation of the Cities Climate Action Toolkit (Also PCA’s Cities Climate Action Workbook)
2020 Strategic Climate Action Plan
Regional: Comments on PSE to the Utilities and Transportation Commission
Kirkland: The approval and implementation of Kirkland’s first Sustainability Master Plan
The 85th Street Station Area Plan
Please join us on Thursday, May 20th at 7 PM for a Zoom meeting (information below)
We very much look forward to seeing you!
